Piet Dieleman (1956, NL) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam. He exhibited at varies places in The Netherlands, but also in Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Gent and Cologne. He won varies prices in the beginning of his career, like the Van Bommel–Van Dam Prize.

Dieleman’s oeuvre opens a world in which visual rhythm and color perception converge, where harmony and dissonance coexist, and where apparent simplicity invites a richly layered, almost sensual experience. His work unsettles our perceptual habits and, in the best sense of Sontag’s words, makes us nervous—just as genuine art should.
